Easy Apple Cheese Danish

This is interesting and easy technique for making lots of Danish fast. Sheets of puff pastry are topped with an apple-cream cheese filling, topped with more puff pastry before being baked and cut. Simple as 1, 2, 3.



2 sheets puff pastry dough, rolled out into two 12" x17" rectangles
16 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 qt. (48 oz.) LUCKY LEAF® Apple Pie Filling
3 Tbsp. cinnamon-sugar mixture (1:2 ratio)
Confectioners’ sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F conventional or 350°F convection.
  2. Place one sheet of puff pastry inside a parchment-lined half-size (12" x 17") sheetpan. Bake 10 minutes (pastry will puff and shrink from sides). Remove from oven and let cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Reserve.
  3. Meanwhile, in bowl of mixer equipped with a paddle, beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla on medium speed until well blended. Carefully spread cream cheese mixture over baked pastry in sheetpan. Carefully spread pie filling evenly over cream cheese layer.
  4. Place remaining sheet of puff pastry on top of the apple filling to cover. Sprinkle top with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Bake for 40- 45 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving. Cover and refrigerate within 2 hours.
  6. To Serve: Cut into 24 equal portions and serve with a sprinkling of confectioners' sugar.
