Knouse Foods Kicks Off Musselman’s® Bright Apples Sweepstakes for K-12

Prizes Awarded to 5 Participating Schools That Embrace Apple Sauce

as Key to Providing Healthier Eating Options to Students

To celebrate National Apple Month, Knouse Foods is launching its first Musselman’s Bright Apples Sweepstakes for kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) schools across the United States. Participating K-12 schools will receive fun, educational posters designed to promote “better nutrition for a brighter tomorrow,” by helping kids learn healthier eating habits with Musselman’s apple sauce.

Entries are accepted August 1 through October 31, 2015. When the sweeps period is finished, five winners will be chosen from a random drawing. Each of the winning schools will receive an apple tree seedling to plant at their school and a $500 American Express® gift card for school improvements. As Knouse Foods is a grower-owned co-operative with 100% American apples, awarding apple tree seedlings is a tribute to farm-to-table education and environmental stewardship for future generations.

Eligible foodservice directors, school officials and other school foodservice employees can enter the sweeps in two easy ways: by completing the online registration form or redeeming the K-12 rebate. After an initial entry, schools have another chance to win by:

“The Bright Apples sweepstakes encourages the natural spark of curiosity in young minds to learn more about their favorite foods, while supporting schools with valuable rebates and potential winnings,” says Bob Fisher, Vice President of Marketing for Knouse Foods. “As a grower-owned cooperative, we want to help in the education of future generations who want to know where their food comes from and support community efforts to promote healthier eating habits.”
